Albie Casiño, on Friday, March 11, expressed how grateful he was to have another opportunity to continue his acting career.
In the virtual media conference for his upcoming movie Moonlight Butterfly, Casiño looked back at how the ABS-CBN reality game show Pinoy Big Brother reignited his career.
“Pagkalabas ko palang ng PBB, ito na agad yung sinasabi ko na, ‘This is it. This is my second chance.'”
He then explained, “Kasi noong nagsimula ako sa showbiz, sobrang bata ko pa eh. And alam mo ‘yon, hindi ko pa alam kung paano yung takbo, hindi ko talaga alam kung anong nangyayari sa industriyang ‘to.”
The actor rose to fame after starring in the 2010 Kapamilya series Mara Clara alongside Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes, but a controversy destroyed his blooming career.
In 2011, it was alleged that he was the father of his then-girlfriend Andi Eigenmann’s unborn child. Only in 2016 that Jake Ejercito turns out to be the dad.
He also suffered from deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which prompted him to leave ABS-CBN in 2015.
After getting his career revived, Casiño revealed that he is now elevating his work ethic.
“I’m working everyday, I’m doing Showtime, and some other stuff on the side. Kung dati, noong bago ako hindi ko talaga gagawin kasi parang tinatamad ako. But now parang strike while it’s hot bago ako malaos ulit.”
His latest film, Moonlight Butterfly, also includes Kit Thompson and sexy star Christine Bermas. Critically-acclaimed filmmaker Direk Joel Lamangan directs it.
Moonlight Butterfly will be available for streaming only on Vivamax, starting March 18.
