The second installment of Regal Entertainment and GMA Network’s anthology series Mano Po Legacy is more than its humor and warmth.
A week into its airing on GMA Network, ‘Her Big Boss’ has already made viewers fall in love with its lovely cast and lighthearted love story. The second offering of this GMA Network and Regal Entertainment collaboration looks poised to enthrall more viewers as it further explores the rich ‘Mano Po’ legacy.
There are more reasons than one to check out this new installment, but the five below are arguably the most convincing:
It’s a breezy, warm-hearted romcom.
Making a little detour from the more dramatic first installment, ‘Her Big Boss’ has a lighter feel that will surely make romcom viewers delighted. That’s not to say intense rivalries and confrontations won’t a make scene soon, but the overall lighthearted vibe of the series should be enough to make viewers stay.
Teejay Marquez plays as an antagonist for the first time.
The Tween Academy and BenXJim star have never played the main antagonist role until ‘Her Big Boss’ came. In an interview, Marquez expressed his excitement for the role, which as he claimed is a 360-degree turn from his previous characters.
The show features a fresh combination of leads.
Her Big Boss stars Bianca Umali, Ken Chan, and Kelvin Miranda, who are currently among GMA Network’s fast-rising young stars. Both Umali and Chan have already enjoyed years of playing leads, while Miranda made his breakthrough just last year, with the top-rated series, The Lost Recipe and Loving Miss Bridgette.
Director Easy Ferrer helms the series.
Easy Ferrer has been known for directing romcom and drama projects like Unloving You (2021), BenXJim (2021), and Regal Studio Presents (2021). One can say that he has [somewhat] made rom-com as his expertise. Choosing him to direct this project is a good choice.
The entire cast is filled with seasoned and award-winning actors.
Aside from Umali, Chan, Miranda, and Marquez, ‘Her Big Boss’ also features a roster of award-wrinning stars, including Pokwang, Ricardo Cepeda, and Marina Benipayo. After leaving ABS-CBN when it went off the air, the series also marks Pokwang’s first daily weekday primetime series on GMA Network.
