Whether the ground could have shaken (or not) under the weight of Kakapampinks occupied Ortigas Center’s Emerald Avenue on the evening of March 20.
It wasn’t a concern for most attendees, who transformed the long stretch of the road into a sea of pink (no, they’re not a cluster of onions), but they’re volunteers for Vice President Leni Robredo wearing pink-colored outfits.
The grand rally is thus far the only Robredo campaign rally to gather more than 100,000 crowds.

Hours leading to Robredo’s arrival, the numbers quickly spiked from a few thousand to tens of thousands. By 4:00 PM, the organizers claimed that at least 80,000 were present at the grand rally. That number further surged and peaked at 137,000 by around 6:30.
On Instagram, popular American singer Ariana Grande posted clips that feature the humungous pink crowd singing along to her global smash hit Break Free. She said ‘I could not believe this was real.”

Big names in showbiz showed up at the event. Real-life ‘Darna’ Angel Locsin, was caught on camera while fangirling over the presidential aspirant.
Popular OPM bands like Rivermaya were also in attendance. Ben&Ben made their first appearance in a Leni Robredo rally, why Julia Barretto, Melai Cantiveros, and Robi Domingo lent their hosting skills for the event.
Donny Pangilinan, the star of the phenomenal hit series, He’s Into Her, and nephew of the vice-presidentiable Kiko Pangilinan serenaded the smitten crowd. His father also graced the event, as a proxy for Senator Pangilinan, who at the time, was attending the COMELEC’s Vice Presidential Debates at Sofitel.
Cantiveros’s co-momshie Jolina Magdangal, meanwhile performed Anak ng Pasig.
The entire avenue rung with songs, which if you’ve been keeping tabs on social media lately that became viral because of Toni Gonzaga and other Marcos grand rally performers. Among the songs, the crowd sang along include Katy Perry’s Roar and Sia’s Titanium, both of which were performed by Gonzaga at her Ninong’s grand rallies.
