Kapuso star Yasmien Kurdi addressed rumors of her being a lesbian back when she was still not married to Rey Soldevilla Jr.
In a YouTube vlog on February 20, Yasmien and her husband answered questions asked by the netizens.
One netizen asked about the rumors of her being a lesbian.
Back then, Kurdi got linked to singer-songwriter Barbie Almalbis.
She explained that she heard of the rumors when she had an out-of-town show with Bamboo and Barbie Almalbis.
They were on their way to Boracay, but the rumors claimed that she and Almalbis were already on the island together.
“Nagsimula ‘to nung nagkaroon kami ng out-of-town show kasama si Bamboo, Barbie Almabis. Pumunta kami ng Ilo-ilo then magbabangka kami papuntang Boracay.
“Nasa bangka pa lang kami, ang balita na sa mga TV at tabloid na jowa ko raw si Barbie Almalbis,” she said.
She said that she was shocked to hear the rumors. Showbiz columnist Lolit Solis even contacted her to confirm if it was true.
The actress then denied rumors and [simply] laughed at them along with her husband.
Kurdi and Soldevilla are married for about 10 years now.
The actress recently starred in the Kapuso series Las Hermanas.
A buzz that she’s to star in the Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean series Start-Up with Bea Alonzo, Jeric Gonzales, and Alden Richards.
