The month-long event vivo Battle of the Legends: Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) Tournament came to a close on February 17, 2022 with two teams battling it out in the Grand Finals and vivo celebrity ambassador Alden Richards participating in a friendly showmatch.

The tournament gathered pro teams and gaming enthusiasts for the chance to showcase their skills in playing a MOBA through the partnership with vivo Philippines. From January 12 to 28, 2022, 32 teams battled it out in the Qualifiers. vivo Philippines released a video of the qualifying games featuring Team Nexplay as guest commentators.

On February 5th, 16 teams competed in single elimination Playoffs. The Top 8 teams played Best of 3 matches to determine the four teams advancing to the Semi Finals: Phoenix Hiraya, Cerebrum Pro, Ravenclaw Esports, and Monster Anarchy.

Meet your Battle of the Legends champions

After an exciting Best of 3 series, Monster Anarchy and Cerebrum Pro won their respective brackets to play the Championship Finals on February 17.

The Best of 5 series was broadcasted live on vivo Philippines’ Facebook page. It was intense, but Cerebrum Pro swept the competition with a 3-0 win against Monster Anarchy. The Battle of the Legends Champion team took home Php100,000 and vivo Y76 5G phones for each member.

Second placer Monster Anarchy took home Php50,000, while third placer Phoenix Hiraya won Php20,000 and fourth placer NV Esports got Php5,000.

Team Alden vs Team Nexplay: A friendly showmatch

Before the showmatch, Team Nexplay and Team Echo went head to head for a chance to battle Alden Richards in a game of MLBB. Team Nexplay ultimately won and battled Team Alden in 5v5 matches using their vivo Y76 5G gaming phones.

This device has a 8 + 4GB Extended RAM that provides enough space for players to run mobile games smoothly. It has a powerful battery with 44W Fast Charge that won’t drain quickly mid-game. To make the experience even better, it’s built with a Game Mode 2.0 that improves the old UI to a more game-centered UI. It also has an AI Editor and Dual View Video so players can capture and share gaming clips to their pages.

Despite being rusty while playing, Alden said he enjoyed his face-off against Team Nexplay. “I appreciate the experience of being able to play with pro players who really compete in big tournaments,” Alden said. “I hope there will be more tournaments like this so more people can experience it. It’s also a way to widen the reach of our market so they can experience the vivo Y76 5G.”

Lucky viewers also felt like winners as vivo Philippines gave away MLBB skins and diamonds, and Under Armour bags.
