In his first Boy’s Love (BL) film, international model, producer, and businessman Marc Cubales on Wednesday, February 9, did not blame either Daddy Blake or his victims.
During his birthday/press conference for his upcoming movie Finding Daddy Blake, he said, “Well I think dahil nga doon sa kagipitan sa ano (pera). I think, personally it’s not the fault of the victim, definitely. I’m not against pero sana hindi nangyari yung mga ganoon eh.”
He blamed the poor economy and the lack of opportunities for people to earn.
“For me, yun ang may kasalanan yung pagkakawala ng opportunity at yun nga, yung income.”
Cubales will be producing the film through his production company MC Production House. It was based on the real accounts of Daddy Blake, an online scammer who enticed celebrities, athletes, and college students into believing that they could earn money by simply recording themselves masturbating. Unfortunately, many fell into his trap, and up to this point, no one knew his real identity.
He will also act in the said film along with a star-studded cast. Finding Daddy Blake is led by critically acclaimed actress Rita Avila, along with award-winning actors Dexter Doria, Gio Alvarez, Oliver Aquino, Carlos Dala, and theater actor Jonathan Ivan Rivera, as well as a young generation of talents.
The movie’s story is about two teenagers, Elijah and Kokoy, who were victims of Daddy Blake. They were trying to expose the person behind the notorious online scammer and, along the way, unexpectedly discover love.
It is directed by award-winning filmmaker Jay Altarejos and is meant to be an entry for local and international movie festivals. The film is also intended to be distributed through various digital streaming platforms across the globe.
