Vice Ganda revealed to Ogie Alcasid that he dreamed of guesting in the GMA Network gag show Bubble Gang in the Wednesday, February 9 episode of It’s Showtime.
During the Showtime Sexy Babe segment of the Kapamilya show, Vice joked that Alcasid’s acting is “Bubble Gang”.
Vice was then asked by his co-host what he meant by the term “Bubble Gang acting”.
Vice responded, “Ewan ko. Di naman ako nakapag-guest doon.”
He shared that he used to be a guest in Idol Ko si Kap, the Kapuso sitcom of Senator Bong Revilla, from 2000 to 2005.
“Alam mo, dati, lagi akong guest sa Idol Ko si Kap, pero diyan [Bubble Gang], di ako nakapag-guest.”
Vice said he dreamed of joining Bubble Gang when he was still a newbie in showbiz.
“Dream ko iyan dati, yung Bubble Gang,”Vice revealed.
Alcasid then said that Vice was not accepted in Bubble Gang, possibly because of his high talent fee.
Vice contradicted his claims, “Hindi. Ang taas lang ng standards niyo. Di ako pasok.”
Alcasid was part of the original cast of Bubble Gang, the longest-running gag show of the Kapuso network.
In an episode of It’s Showtime in July 2018, Vice revealed that he started his showbiz career in GMA Network.
He said that he was part of the Kapuso afternoon series Saang Sulok ng Langit (2005) which was led by Maxene Magalona.
He revealed, “Iyan ang unang teleserye ko. Di ba, walang nakakaalala?”
“Kahit nga GMA, di nila naaalala na galing ako doon,” he added.
Vice is a regular host on ABS-CBN’s noontime variety show It’s Showtime and has starred in several films, eight of which are considered the highest-grossing in Philippine cinema.
His career began to build after appearances on television and reviews from tabloid columns. He works alongside fellow comedians Chokoleit, Pooh, John Lapus, and Rey Kilay.
