Vice Ganda recalled an emotionally upsetting encounter from the Kapamilya management, who barred his engagement announcement with Ion Perez in 2020.
During the February 16 episode of It’s Showtime, Vice said that their management asked the couple not to disclose their engagement in 2020.
He did not get into the specifics of the encounter but expressed how hurt he was with the management’s response.
Vice then expressed emotional hurt when the management didn’t allow the couple to disclose their engagement.
Vice revealed that Ion proposed to him on February 21, 2020, before the pandemic and ABS-CBN shutdown.
Their co-hosts Teddy Corpuz and Jugs Jugueta recounted Perez’s plans of proposing to Vice during an episode of It’s Showtime. However, the trio disclosed that their director at the time disapproved of the romantic gesture.
Corpuz recalled how hurt Perez was over the refusal of his surprise proposal to the love of his life.
Excited kaming tatlo, e. Gusto niya dito mag-propose talaga sa ‘Showtime.’ Nakita ko ‘yung pain. Ramdam namin iyon kay Ion.”
Earlier, Vice and Ion trended on social media after posting the couple’s photos on Instagram, revealing that they got ‘married’ in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, through a commitment ceremony.
The couple confirmed that they had the ceremony on October 19, 2021.
