The now-defunct Kapamilya sitcom aired from 2002 to 2006, and starred Aga Muhlach, Bayani Agbayani, and Edu Manzano.
There were years when both GMA Network and ABS-CBN had sitcoms airing after their respective primetime drama line-up (or after the late-night news, on some occasions). As for ABS-CBN, the network pretty much scored several hit titles, which starred some of its most popular stars. Among the hit sitcoms include Ok Fine, Whatever, which debuted on the Network’s late-night timeslot on May 14, 2002. It replaced the short-lived, all-female-led sitcom, Attagirl.
On its 1st anniversary, Ok Fine, Whatever! invited some of the brightest stars in showbiz to guest on the show.
Having Rica Peralejo, Gloria Romero, Nikki Valdez, Heart Evangelista, Onyok Velasco, Christian Vasquez, and Michelle Bayle in the cast is already star-studded.
However, it didn’t seem enough for the showrunners, as they asked seasoned, and undoubtedly, some of the most popular stars in the industry. These stars included Sharon Cuneta, Roderick Paulate, and Regine Velasquez all made appearances on the show.
One of the most talked-about guest appearances–is Vilma Santos.
“It’s our way of thanking our televiewers for sticking it out with us for the past year” explained Bayani Agbayani on why they had to invite big stars over. “Mga superstars yan at super busy, kaya para mapagbiyan kami, it meant a holw lot of love’” he added.
The show lasted until 2006, and through its more than four years on the air, several homegrown Kapamilys stars became part of the show. Erich Gonzales and Arron Vilaflor, who then just finished their Star Circle stints, joined in 2005; John Estrada, Sharlene San Pedro, and the late comedian, Tado, joined in 2004; while Mariel Rodriguez joined a year earlier.
Edu Manzano joined Agbayani and Mulach as lead stars of the show in 2003 and stayed as such until the show’s final episode. The show also served as the actor’s reunion with his former wife, Vilma Santos. Browse through the photo gallery below to see some of their fun and kilig moments on the set.
