Senator Manny Pacquiao was teary-eyed during his interview with Boy Abunda as he recalled the hardship he experienced before achieving success in life.
Manny is now being hailed as a boxing legend after his success with his boxing career. He is currently running for the highest seat in the country.
In his presidential one-on-one interview with Boy Abunda on January 28, Manny had to fight back his tears while explaining his reason for running for president.
“‘Di ‘ko maalis sa akin, emotional ako pagdating sa hirap kasi dumanas kami sa hirap.
“Nagutom kami, tubig lang ang iniinom namin para maka survive sa isang araw. Iyan ang desire ko puso ko na tulungan ang mahihirap na tao dahil dumanas ako nang walang pagkain sa isang araw,” said Manny.
He then explained that he wanted to strengthen the country’s economy to help the country’s hunger problem.
On Twitter, netizens then expressed their opinion regarding Manny’s presidential interview. Some sympathized with his beliefs, while others said he lacked the knowledge to lead the country.

Let's be honest here. Sen. Manny Pacquiao has the pure heart and genuine intentions to serve the Filipino people. Unfortunately, his experiences and knowledge are not enough.

this should convince you NOT to vote for manny pacquiao. running a country is NOT THE SAME as doing CHARITY. it's a HUGE RESPONSIBILITY that requires open-minded thinking, social awareness, and sufficient emotional intelligence—which i, RESPECTFULLY, think he LACKS. pic.twitter.com/GZcXJYyomW

not manny pacquiao justifying rape by saying "mag part ka rin diyan". ang sahol. napakalala. his beliefs are too grounded on his faith that it is no longer humane.
the way he said this only testifies that HE CAN NEVER PROTECT WOMEN, CHILDREN AND THE EVEN THE LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY. pic.twitter.com/4tHU0qHT7W

"May part ka ra rin nyan."
–Manny Pacquiao to rape victimsI swear it's always the religious ones who really don't value women's life and choices. Not surprised though. I can feel Boy Abunda cringing from the inside.
