Presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr has been in hot water over the weekend after a video of him snubbing a supporter went viral on social media.
Marcos Jr. was highly criticized for his “matapobre” antics during their campaign caravan in Caloocan, Saturday, February 19.
A seemingly irritated and tired Marcos Jr was caught avoiding a handshake from a supporter.
The video quickly circulated on social media which warranted the Marcos Jr camp to come up with an explanation.
According to his spokesman Atty. Vic Rodriguez, Marcos was not avoiding handshake but merely protecting his wounded arm.
He even included a photo of the presidential candidate wearing gauze on his left wrist.

While other netizens pointed out the wrong ‘continuity’ of Marcos Jr’s wound, some of Marcos Jr’s friends may have unwittingly sold him out with their photos showing an un-bandaged wrist just a day after.
Senatorial aspirant JV Ejercito in his facebook post on Monday, February 21, showed a photo of him together with Marcos Jr., which noticeable has no more bandage on his wrist.
Netizen @pepita_manaloto shared the said photo of Ejercito on Twitter with a caption asking who healed Marcos that easily.

Aside from Ejercito, another senatorial aspirant Robin Padilla, also shared another photo of Marcos without the gauze on his left wrist.
In a now-deleted facebook post, Robin shared a photo of Marcos eating empanada which clearly showed his un-bandaged wrist. Padilla praised Marcos Jr for being a simple man.
Netizen @elfilibuetero however managed to screenshot Padilla’s post and shared it on Twitter with the caption: “Look: pinahamak na naman ni Robin si Sinungaling na Alamano by his post around the time he was supposed to have an infected wound na wala talagang sugat. Kasinungalingan, meron.”

Following the online pushback on Marcos Jr’s moving wound narrative, his spokesman Atty. Vic Rodriguez came up with a follow-up explanation saying the wound was indeed in the left but what got caught in the video showing his right hand was just a reflex reaction normal to people who have been pinched or bruised.
“Normal na reaksyon ‘yun pag ikaw ay nakurot ‘di ba? Normal na reaksyon ‘yun pag ikaw ay nagalusan, or medyo napiga ‘yung kamay eh instinct ‘yun eh. Kahit kanino mo gawin ‘yun, instinct mo ‘yun, para kang nagulat but it doesn’t mean anything,” Rodriguez said.
