Ultimate Heartthrob Piolo Pascual said on Monday, February 14, that he is open to be working under the All Media Broadcasting System (AMBS).
ABS-CBN’s previous frequency, channel 2, was awarded by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to the new TV network owned by business mogul and former senator Manny Villar.
In the virtual media conference for his upcoming sitcom My Papa Pi, Pascual said, “As long as there’s no conflict. You know my deal naman with ABS is as long as hindi siya conflict sa shows mo with ABS, I don’t think it’s gonna matter. As long as the concept is good.”
However, the award-winning actor stressed that he has no time to entertain offers from other networks.
“Pero for now, I’m just gonna bask in whatever I have right now with ABS because there are so many shows that I’m working on. So I don’t think I have the time in the near future.”
Indeed, he has no time to waste given that he also has entered the world of producing. He and his production company Spring Films have taken on projects for Cignal Entertainment.
“Nasa locked-in sila ngayon, yung sa Niña Niño, still ongoing. End season na rin kami. And then there’s another one that we are lined to produce for them. So dere-deretso naman. There’s a demand for content so we don’t limit ourselves to certain platforms.”
In the meantime, Pascual is busy with his sitcom with 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach and actor Pepe Herrera.
According to him, it was a “breather” to do a light and fun show. It also allowed him to discover new learnings from himself.
“To step out of the box, to do something different, to do something challenging that will get you out of your comfort zone. So it’s nice to portray something na hindi mo pa nagagawa.
“So it always excites me when I get to discover, you know stuff about what I can do or how I can make myself better in terms of execution and output,” he shared.
My Papa Pi also marks his return to sitcoms, making him feel like a kid again.
“I guess I got too excited working because it’s been more than two years since my last TV gig na regular show. Talagang parang bata ulit, you know, learning new things.
“Sobra siyang welcome change sa break nung routine mo. Masaya lang. Wala namang nagbago. Marami lang kasama ngayon.”
The series is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and is set to premiere in March 2022.
