Kapuso artist Pauline Mendoza highlighted her first-ever mature role in GMA Network’s Widows’ Web during the media conference for the series on February 17.
Mendoza compared her role from Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat to Widows’ Web, noting that Kapuso viewers would see a different Pauline in the series.
“This time it’s very different for me kasi this is my first-ever mature role. From Babawiin, to Kambal Karibal so this time ibang Pauline Mendoza ‘yung makikita nila sa show na ‘to.
“Kasi, from my previous interviews, this is also my first-ever mature role. May asawa po ako dito. Magkaka-asawa, medyo iba talaga ‘to for me. So I’m very thankful na nasama ako dito sa cast na ‘to, sa story na ‘to.”
As for landing her role, Mendoza expressed her gratitude to GMA Network for giving her a lead role again.
“Of course, I’m really grateful and happy kasi binigyan ako ulit ng GMA [Network] ng ganitong opportunity and super ganda ng proyektong ‘to. So, talagang noong pinakita sa akin ‘tong story, I grabbed it and I loved it. And, super excited ako sa show na ‘to.”
She then described what it was working like with Director Jerry Lopez-Sineneng and the other stars in the series.
“It’s my first working with Direk Jerry [Lopez-Sineneng] and with all the other cast. Si Miss Carmina [Villaroel] magkasama kami sa Babawiin ko ang Lahat, dito magkasama ulit kami. So I’m very happy ulit and excited.”
She also shared details about her character in the upcoming primetime series.
“Every character talaga has their own story to tell, so walang tapon sa lahat ng characters dito.
“And for Elaine, ako kasi for every role na ibibigay sa akin ng GMA [Network], I take it talaga as a challenge for me to motivate myself, for me to give justice to this character.”
Widows’ Web, GMA Network’s first suspense-serye, stars Carmina Villaroel, Vaness del Moral, Ashley Ortega, and Pauline Mendoza.
Joining them are other Kapuso stars Ryan Eigenmann, Adrian Alandy, Edgar Allan Poe, Bernard Palanca, Arthur Solinap, Christian Vasquez, Allan Paule, Mosang, Tanya Gomez, Neil Coleta, Mike Agassi, Karenina Haniel, Dave Bornea, Anjay Anson, and Vanessa Pena.
