Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte admitted that some of the displaced ABS-CBN workers are working in her office after the Network failed to obtain a franchise renewal.
On February 9, during the oath-taking ceremonies of the new set of officers and board directors of the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC), Belmonte shared how her office hired former ABS-CBN employees.
“Yes, there are several that came. They’re very capable, very competent people.
“They were displaced, and, I think, displaced rather unfairly and unceremoniously. And the loss of… well, their loss was our gain sa Quezon City government.
I attribute that to the talent and skills of the men and women from ABS-CBN that we absorbed in the Quezon City government,” Belmonte said.
Belmonte also has a message for her bashers, saying the bashing helped her improve as a leader.
Nakatulong actually sila sa akin,” she said.
Party-list Representative for ANAKALUSUGAN and Congressman Mike Defensor, Belmonte’s opponent in the mayoral race, is not in favor of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal.
