The netizens ridiculed the analogy of Sen. Imee Marcos’s short film that associated her bashers with coffee on Monday, February 7.
In Vincentement’s Bitter Len-Len, the Senator was heard with these lines:
“Ako ba nakikita niyong sumasagot diyan sa social media? Nakita mo ba akong nakikipagpatutsadahan sa mga basher na yan? Imagine kung nagpapapatol ako, sa dami ng nagba-bash sa amin, baka hindi ako ganito kaganda at my age… Len-Len, ang pait ng kape mo!”
Marcos also tried to “connect” coffee to her life.
“Ang pakikipag-usap, parang kape ‘yan. Tama lang na mainit. Umuusok. ‘Yung coffee beans, ‘yan ang issue. Ang hot water ‘yan ang brain cells mo. Dapat matunaw ang substance para dama ang aroma at sustansya.
“Yung cream o milk, ‘yan ang mga simpleng dagdag ng mga life experiences.Kaunting cream of learning. Adding richness to the conversation. Ngayon ‘yung sugar, dependa ‘yan sa kausap. Kung bet mong magpaka-sweet. O kahit hindi mo gusto ang takbo ng usapan, tamisan mo ng konti, para hindi na magkasamaan,” she said.
Ben Bernabe, quoting a line from a TikTok video he shared, wrote: “Ang gusto kong kape, yung matapang. Walang aatrasan. Kaya kang ipaglaban.”

The woman-Marcos’s brother, presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. refused to be interviewed by broadcast journalists Jessica Soho and Karen Davila a few days back.
The former senator also came up with an “excuse” not to attend the disqualification case against him and feared to be a “carrier” of Omicron, a COVID-19 variant.
Meanwhile, some netizens pointed out that Imee’s taste in coffee is wrong.
A certain Kevin Moalong argued that “for coffee to be effective, it must be bitter. Bitter is better.”
He also added that a bitter coffee means that it is strong “by definition.”
I don’t get the shade being thrown at bitter coffee. Am I missing something?
Kasi I’ve always found that, for coffee to be effective, it must be bitter. Bitter is better.
Dahil ang kapeng mapait ay, by definition, matapang.
Strong.
May substance. ☕️

ABS-CBN StarPop Label Head Roque Rox Santos claimed that the Senator might be afraid of her brother’s rival, incumbent Vice President Leni Robredo.

A netizen also threw some shade at the woman-Senator as he tweeted, “coffee and tobacco taste so good together.”
While still governor of Ilocos Norte in 2017, the Senator admitted to using P66.45 million in tobacco tax revenues to purchase vehicles as part of her Programang Ikauunlad ng Mamamayan Ekonomiya at Ekolohiya or “P Imee” project.
