On February 14, Kapamilya artist Maris Racal highlighted the positive impact of the age gap between her and her beau Rico Blanco.
During the media conference for Noreen Capili’s The Goodbye Girl, Racal said she and Blanco share their experiences in life in their relationship.
“Sa age namin may iba’t ibang level kami ng experience sa buhay, sa mundo, so nashe-share namin ‘yun sa isa’t isa. Ano lang kasi sa amin eh, walang–hindi nagma-matter sa amin ‘yung dominant, kung sino ‘yung recessive.
“We’re both like that, it’s just–pinag-uusapan namin lahat. Hindi kami nagkwe-kwenta kung sino ‘yung mas magaling magbigay ng love or mas sino mas mahal ‘yung isa’t isa. Mahal lang talaga namin ‘yung isa’t isa and we just want to keep each other around.”
Racal also noted that Blanco prioritizes their mental health as a couple.
“Sobrang pina-prioritize ‘yung mental health. So anything na problem ko, or like anything na problem, napapag-usapan talaga namin and naiintindihan namin ang isa’t isa ng sobra. ‘Yun ‘yung factor na ‘yun sobrang ganda talaga ng naidudulot noon sa relationship namin. So ‘yun.”
She also shared how they settle their arguments through a calm discussion.
“Sa amin talaga, ang ironic ng sasabihin ko pero natutuwa ako sa mga arguments namin. Kasi parang ano–walang sigawan na nangyayari. So sinasabi ko kung ano ‘yung nasa puso ko, and sinasabi ko kung saan ako nanggagaling.
“Tapos siya naman ulit, tapos tinatahi namin, ‘Ah dito tayo nagkamali. Okay, naiintidihan na kita.’ Tapos ganon lang ‘yung away namin. Parang kaming nasa korte. Pero sobrang calm lang talaga. Calm lang talaga yung manner namin.”
Netizens noticed the romance between Racal and Blanco in March 2021, and then Racal revealed her relationship with Blanco in May 2021.
As for her Kapamilya project, Racal stars in one episode of The Goodbye Girl. The six-episode series stars Kapamilya actors Angelica Panganiban, JC De Vera, and RK Bagatsing alongside other Kapamilya artists Loisa Andalio, Barbie Imperial, Maris Racal, Elisse Joson, Joshua Colet, Rico Blanco, Turs Daza, and Ronnie Alonte.
The Goodbye Girl streams on the iWantTFC app from February 14 to 19.
