Viva artist Marco Gumabao admitted on Tuesday, February 8, that there was a spooky moment while filming his 2018 horror movie Aurora, making him a believer in ghosts.
In the virtual media conference of his latest horror flick, Bahay na Pula, he shared, “Kasi sa unang horror film na ginawa ko na dinayrek ni Direk Yam Laranas, nag-uusap-usap kami ng cast doon sa place na parang sobrang haunted talaga siya. Tapos right on cue, biglang nagsarado yung pintuan, tapos walang tao.”
Aurora was partially inspired by the sinking of MV Doña Paz and starred Anne Curtis.
Meanwhile, due to his experience, concluded that ghosts despise being the main topic of a discussion.
“So naniniwala ako na kapag pinag-uusapan nyo yung isang bagay tapos nandoon kayo sa isang lugar na alam nyong may multo, magpaparamdam at magpaparamdam talaga sila.”
The creepiness of the experience was also felt by the young artist while filming Bahay na Pula.
He revealed that the cast and crew were already greeted by the supernatural during their first day at Pola, Oriental Mindoro.
“Pero dito naman sa Bahay na Pula, sa totoo lang, noong pagdating palang namin, nung pumipili palang kami ng mga kwarto kung saan kami matutulog, doon pa lang meron na agad eh.
“Parang may nararamdaman na kami agad na kung ano-ano na hindi na lang namin pinapansin. Kasi siyempre first day namin ‘to so ayaw namin magtakutan.”
However, Gumabao was unfazed by it as he said, “So ‘yun, minsan may mga nagpaparamdam pero ako hindi ko na lang pinapansin.”
The film is helmed by award-winning director Brillante Mendoza and also stars Julia Barretto and Xian Lim.
Bahay na Pula will premiere on Vivamax, February 25.
