Formerly a self-proclaimed ‘Kakampink,’ Miss Q and A winner Juliana Parizcova seemingly shed skin when he unabashedly showed his true political leanings.
It’s not sure whether Miss Q and A 2018 winner was a diehard ‘kakampink’ before. He had social media posts where he wore pink and used hashtags related to Robredo’s presidential campaign.
It could be that he was just a silent Robredo supporter, or he was merely hopping on a trend most of his fellow artists in ABS-CBN were following. But, the one thing for sure [now[ is that he is definitely for BBM, the late dictator Marcos’ son.
Recently, Parizcova drew flak for appearing in a series of short films directed by controversial director, Darryl Yap.
The said videos are apparently to throw shades at presidential bet VP Leni Robredo.
The short film featured Senator Imee Marcos as one of the actors. It wasn’t difficult to get where these films are being directed at, as the topics and their titles, themselves, are about Leni Robredo, not to mention the presence of Imee, BBM’s sister, in the video.
Parizcova rose to prominence for his sensible and witty answers in Miss Q and A.
He was hailed as a Hall of Famer which gave him a golden ticket to the finals. During the grand finals, he bested fellow grand finalists, including equally articulate Lars Pacheco, and Matmat Centino to become the show’s first Miss Q and A titleholder.
She was sensible then, able to make sense of the insensible questions thrown at him. His witty ‘Beklamation’ answers are known for providing wisdom and insight.
Given his ongoing participation in Yap’s campaign, which the director conveniently labeled as satire, Parizcova has practically pledged his support for Marcos.
He apparently support Marcos’s allies too, judging how often he thanked them on his social media accounts. Now, let’s be clear that shifting sides isn’t the main problem in Parizcova.
He is entitled to his beliefs and political leanings, after all, so does every Filipino.
What does not sink in, however, is his choice to be part of what looks like a pack of attack dogs for his preferred politician.
Is there really a need to be loud about it, especially on the issue of working beyond the usual number of work hours, when he himself, probably has had moments when he had to pull off at least an 18-hour work shift a day.
This should not only disappoint his co-workers at ABS-CBN who mostly take offense in a Marcos return to power, but what truly hurts, perhaps, is the fact that the campaign he participated in, does not only undermine Robredo, but the working class, the Martial Law victims, among many others.
Does his choice really make sense?
He still may not be a rabid fanatic now, but given how quickly he bared who he truly was, it won’t surprise him if he gets even louder soon.
