Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) remains the most-watched, most-followed show despite Bongbong Marco’s accusation of being biased based on Nielsen Philippines’ data for 2021.
KMJS is still the favorite Sunday show on Philippine TV for the fourth consecutive year.
According to data, it garnered a strong 19.4 percent average NUTAM (National Urban TV Audience Measurement) people rating, equivalent to 9.4 million viewers on primetime.
KMJS has 27 million followers on Facebook, the highest among Philippine TV program accounts in the country. Last year alone, its online engagements reached over 164 million.
It is the main traffic source to GMA Public Affairs’ YouTube channel. In 2021, KMJS’ videos generated over 6 billion combined views on Facebook and YouTube. In addition, its topics continue to trend weekly on Twitter.
“Our goal is to continue connecting and interacting meaningfully with both our TV audiences and online followers and subscribers. But what we’re really most proud of are the lives we helped change for 2021,” Soho said.
Throughout its run, KMJS inspired and helped many people through their stories.
In 2021, the Kapuso show helped two families–the Sifiatas of Rizal and the Mullenos of Bulacan after their newborns were switched at birth in the hospital.
The story has 17.2 million views on Facebook and made KMJS the Philippine winner for the Best Infotainment Category in the Asian Academy Creative Awards.
KMJS featured the story of an 11-year-old boy, Reymark, from Sultan Kudarat, who plows the family’s field of radishes with his horse. He is now granted a brand new house and a steady source of income.
KMJS also documented the rise of the Taliban into power. The show posted the team’s life-threatening coverage in Afghanistan in 2002 on the KMJS website and got 20 million views.
“This proves that not only are Filipinos global citizens. We do care about what’s happening in other parts of the world,” Soho added.
Marcos Jr.’s camp recently claimed that veteran journalist Jessica Soho is “biased against the Marcoses”— the reason it had cited for refusing to join her interview in The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews held on Saturday, January 22.
Presidential aspirants Vice President Leni Robredo, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Senator Panfilo Lacson, and Senator Manny Pacquiao accepted the invitation except Marcos Jr.
