On January 31, Kapamilya actor JC De Vera said he considers every project with Angelica Panganiban a blessing.
During the media conference for their upcoming iWanTFC series, The Goodbye Girl, De Vera admitted that he looks up to the Kapamilya actress and her years in showbiz.
“Well of course, very blessed ako everytime na nasasama ako sa mga projects na nandoon si Angge. Feeling ko talaga, everytime na I work with her, inspired ako and motivated. Kasi nga, to be honest, I think this is the first time na maririnig ni Angel ‘to na, I look up to her.
“Kasi nga in terms of ‘yung pagiging vet niya sa acting, alam mo ‘yan. Kahit mapa-anong genre ‘yan. Mapa-drama, mapa-comedy, mapa-RomCom, any genre na binigay sa kanya, palaging natatapos niya ‘yung project with flying colors. Mapa-drama, comedy, palaging may flying colors.”
He also revealed Panganiban’s generosity to her co-actors when they tape or shoot scenes.
“At very generous kasi siya pagdating sa acting kaya most likely, lahat ng makakasama niya sa acting, gagaling din. Very powerful siya pagdating sa ganon. So I never get tired of working with her, kasi nga siguro hanggang tumanda kami, maraming bagong ipapakita si Angge.”
De Vera also highlighted Panganiban’s authenticity as an actress.
“Siguro kung made-describe ko kay Angge, na kung ano talaga ‘yung favorite value na pinapakita niya sa akin is ‘yung authenticity niya pagdating sa pagtratrabaho. The way she explains herself when she portrays a character.”
Panganiban, on the other hand, noted De Vera’s growth as a family man, referring to the actor’s maturity as a person.
“Pa-improve lang ng pa-improve ‘yung personality niya lalo na siyempre family man di ba? Mas exciting nang kausapin dahil mas lumalawak na ‘yung mga pananaw at aspeto niya sa buhay.
“Ang dami na naming pag-uusapan hindi na lang parang puro na lang inuman at ano na parang, ‘saan tayo bukas? Anong gagawin natin?’ Ngayon parang may direksyon talaga ‘yung kausap mo. So mas lumalim.”
Aside from The Goodbye Girl, De Vera and Panganiban worked on projects such as Ang Dalawang Misis Reyes, Banana Sunday, and The Kangks Show.
Based on Noreen Capili’s best-selling book, the series stars Angelica Panganiban, JC De Vera, and RK Bagatsing.
The Goodbye Girl also has Loisa Andalio, Barbie Imperial, Maris Racal, and Elisse Joson portraying different women going through heartbreaks and how they relate to Panganiban’s character.
The six-episode digital series, directed by Derick Cabrido, streams on iWanTFC on February 14, Valentine’s Day.
