OPM Band Silent Sanctuary seemed not proud to be part of the upcoming Marcos Jr-Duterte-Carpio campaign rally in Pangasinan.
The band invited their fans and supporters to a gig in Pangasinan on Sunday, February 27, without disclosing that the event–is intended for the BBM-Sara rally.
In their post, they asked people to jam with them at the Saint Vincent Ferrer Prayer Park in Bayambang, Pangasinan. They did not mention that they’ll be performing at the Marcos-Duterte-Carpio political rally.
“North peeps!!! Gusto nyo bang tumalon tumalon sa saya? Hahaha. Magkita kita tayong lahat sa sa Bayambang, Pangasinan on February 27, Sunday.Makisaya at maki-jam ulit samin! Let’s G!”
Their post immediately attracted criticism on social media, and many netizens slammed the band for misleading the public.
Atty. Nico Quejano shared a screenshot of the band’s post. He blasts them for not properly informing people about the event.
Uhm. Silent Sanctuary is actually misleading people inviting people to a gig without mentioning it is a political rally for BBM. pic.twitter.com/H54TwHDZ4f

Netizen @sanghakric_kr also chastised the group saying while there’s no problem if they are BBM supporters, they should have been transparent in posting that a gig is a political event.
“Silent Sanctuary being “BBM supporters” isnt the issue here. They can have their own political stand, let them its their decisions. The issue here is they are not transparent that the gig that will happen on Feb 27 is for a political rally. Yall should focus on that instead”

Same with @DarkVoid_2Z who also pointed out the band’s failure to disclose the real purpose of the event.
“Silent Sanctuary being cancelled for having a different political opinion? Lmao, we should make fun of people who can’t take different political views. But that’s not the issue here. They’re misleading people to attend a concert when it’s actually a political rally Daz not koo”

And @unbathecat who also said that while they have all the right to accept the job they should be transparent in inviting people to their gig and disclosing it as a political event for Marcos Jr. and Duterte-Carpio.
“Oh no not silent sanctuary they have the right to earn a living naman pero yung misleading post talaga yung nakakadisappoint.”

Netizen @thekimrlln also said the same. The problem with Silent Sanctuary’s invite is their failure to disclose what the event is all about.
“Actually, the problem was that Silent Sanctuary did not disclose what the event was for- they simply posted an invite to the people of Pangasinan for a “free concert””

The band seemed ashamed of their participation in the Marcos Jr-Duterte-Carpio event and they just needed the job.
In a subsequent tweet by Quejano, he revealed that one of the members of the band is a Kakampink.
Anyway, yung isang member daw nila ay Kakampink. And that is just work.
Kayo na bahala mag decide on what to do or feel.
Ang sa akin, pinapahiram nila yung credibility nila sa magnanakaw. So sana, kung trabaho lang… sabihin sa page na di nila sinusuportahan si BBM.
