On Monday, February 14, GMA Network’s latest primetime series, First Lady aired its first episode.
But how did its pilot episode fare in TV ratings?
According to the latest ratings report from AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey, First Lady‘s pilot episode scored 14.4%, 4.3% higher than Kapamilya rival FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano which scored 10.1%.
However, while First Lady‘s first episode beats its rival, it was way below its prequel First Yaya.
First Yaya, in its pilot episode, scored a combined rating of 23%, 8.6% higher than the sequel First Lady’s pilot.
It slightly improved to 14.8%. It beat Kapamilya’s longest-running action-drama FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano‘s with only 10.2% on its second day.
The first two episodes of First Lady focused on Melody’s new role as the wife of President Glen Acosta and now as the First Lady of the country.
During the premiere, the new First Yaya got revealed in the person of Bevs.
As Melody navigated through her new role, not only for the First Family but for the country–she was given help in the person of former First Ladies who seemed to look down on her.
Can First Lady match the success of its prequel First Yaya in the rating game? Or will it easily succumb to competition as Cardo Dalisay proved to be immortal?
