Former Kapamilya and award-winning director Jerry Lopez-Sineneng expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received in GMA Network during the media conference for Widows’ Web on February 17.
Lopez-Sineneng described his first Kapuso project as easy, highlighting the light amount of work he had as a director thanks to the support from the staff, the creatives, and the actors.
“Napakasarap, napakagaan lang po. Mahirap, malaking project pero naramdaman ko agad ‘yung suporta, yung pag-welcome agad sa akin na parang bahagi talaga ako ng pamilyang ito.
“Wala po akong mahihiling, masayang masaya po ako. Sa totoo lang. From the cast, to the crew, to the production, ‘yung suporta sa akin ng management, sobrang saya ko po.”
In November 2021, Lopez-Sineneng joined GMA Network after a long time working with ABS-CBN.
“Before anything else, gusto ko lang linawin, I will forever be grateful to ABS-[CBN) for the 29 years of my career.
“Yes, matagal ko na rin naman pong–it has crossed my mind many times and I never close naman my doors to any possibilities in life. Sobrang–noong nangyari siya, sobra po akong masaya.”
He then clarified that he felt happy with ABS-CBN while thanking GMA Network for making him feel a part of the Network.
“I’m not saying na hindi ako masaya sa dati, pero ang saya dito–‘yung pag tanggap na naranasan ko, ‘yung pag they embraced me right away. They made me feel I’m part– of my new home. May bago na akong bahay na ipinaramdam nila sa akin ‘yun. Sobra akong masaya, sobra akong nagpapasalamat, sobra akong thankful, sobra akong honored to be working with GMA [Network].”
He also listed the Kapuso talents he wants to work with in the future.
“Marami po, sila Marian Rivera, Alden Richards. Of course, si Mr. Dingdong Dantes. Si Heart [Evangelista], I’ve worked with Heart. I directed her in 2004–I was 21 years old din, joke lang. I want to work with her again.
“Ang dami, ang dami, lalo na ngayon ‘yung realization ko, ang sarap na katrabaho ng iba. Ang realization ko, do not– wag kang mag-peg, wag kang mamili kasi magugulat ka first time mo katrabaho ‘to ang sarap pala katrabaho, ang husay pala. I’m willing to work with anyone.”
As for his first directorial project, Jerry Lopez-Sineneng joins Philip Lazaro in GMA Network’s first suspense-serye.
Widows’ Web stars Carmina Villaroel, Vaness del Moral, Ashley Ortega, and Pauline Mendoza.
Joining the lead cast are other Kapuso stars Ryan Eigenmann, Adrian Alandy, Edgar Allan Poe, Bernard Palanca, Arthur Solinap, Christian Vasquez, Allan Paule, Mosang, Tanya Gomez, Neil Coleta, Mike Agassi, Karenina Haniel, Dave Bornea, Anjay Anson, and Vanessa Pena.
The series premieres on February 28, 2022, on GMA Telebabad.
