Kapamilya artist Faith Da Silva admitted on February 14, she wanted to focus on music since her StarStruck days.
During the media conference for her GMA Playlist song release Sana Sabihin Mo Na Lang, Da Silva recalled how she fell into dancing and acting instead of music while in StarStruck.
“Before joining StarStruck I was singing kasi I wasn’t really into acting or dancing. Pero nga napansin ako sa Starstruck na dancer, which is hindi ko nga alam kung paano nangyari. Dinaan ko lang siguro sa mga pa-awra awra ko na ganyan.”
She then thanked GMA Playlist for the chance to pursue her passion for music.
“Pero when I was doing workshops for acting parang mas napunta doon ‘yung focus at nakalimutan ko na I can sing. And, bakit hindi ko i-share itong talent na ‘to sa mga maraming tao. Kaya very thankful ako sa GMA Playlist kasi sila ‘yung nag-open ng doors for me para makapasok ako sa music dito sa GMA.”
Da Silva also cited the musical influence behind her song Sana Sabihin Mo Na Lang.
“I’ve been a fan of Up Dharma Down, and happy ako na with this song, Sana Sabihin Mo Na Lang, medyo katunog niya ang Up Dharma Down. And, ‘yun nga since inspiration ko sila, happy ako na ‘yung product ng kung ano ‘yung pinaghirapan namin is kung ano mismo ‘yung gusto ko mismo na maging tunog niya.”
She then noted that her musical talents came from her mom.
“‘Yung Mama ko talaga, siya ‘yung musically inclined sa pamilya namin. I don’t think kumakanta talaga si Papa.”
She then mentioned that she drew inspiration from her previous experiences with relationships for her latest single.
“Wala po akong specific person na inspiration for that, I think mostly it was the situation ng mga pinagdaanan ko before na very, very close to my song na Sana Sabihin Mo Na Lang.”
Da Silva joined StarStruck in 2015 and became a Kapuso artist after the reality TV competition.
She then worked on Teleseryes such as Sinungaling Mong Puso, Hahamakin ang Lahat, Sahaya, and Las Hermanas.
As for her single, Sana Sabihin Mo Na Lang drops on February 25 on all digital platforms.
