At the media conference for GMA Playlist song release Sana Sabihin Mo Na Lang, on February 14, Kapamilya artist Faith Da Silva recalled losing opportunities amid the pandemic.
“I think po yes, it’s something na hindi ako nahihiyang sabihin kasi I don’t think ako lang po ‘yung nakaranas nito. Karamihan ng mga taong nandito or naka-experience. Kasi at that time, nawalan po lahat ng trabaho and siyempre po, I am the provider of my family so pag nandodoon ka sa point na ‘yun hindi mo talaga alam ‘yung gagawin mo.”
She then thanked GMA Network for helping her financially despite the lack of projects during the lockdowns.
“But thankfully, GMA Network po is very helpful for us. Binibigyan po kami ng monthly cash advance, for every month. Doon po nanggaling ‘yung financial–‘yung pang-gastos ko everyday.”
She also noted how the pandemic changed her priorities and mindset about her career.
“I’m inside my unit, and I’m alone, and I can’t go out, I can’t do anything, so it really took a toll on my mental health. It was [really] bad at that time. But because of that, I realized so many things. And, I think grabe din po ‘yung growth ko because of the pandemic, because since nga na I felt na parang wala na ako magawa, I can’t even help myself, that’s when I started focusing kung ano talaga ‘yung dapat kong gawin.”
She shared details about her family’s condition when the lockdown started.
“Kami parang gusto namin ng privacy but at the same time, gusto namin na magkakalapit kami kasi very close kami sa family dahil nga sa tatlo lang po kami. Hindi naman po talaga kami sanay na magkakahiwalay. Pero syempre, as you grow older, gusto mo ng privacy mo na sarili.”
As to how she handled her emotions during the surge of COVID-19, Da Silva said she chose to hide her pain, preferring to solve problems by herself.
“Everytime na nafi-feel down ako, iniisip ko ‘yung family ko na ano ‘yung mangyayari sa kanila if I’m not here anymore. I can’t bear to see them hurting. So sometimes I think it’s better for me to hurt by myself, than makita nila na nagsu-suffer ako kasi ganon po ako eh, kapag may problema ako na iniinda, sinasarili ko po ‘yun lahat.”
Sana Sabihin Mo Na Lang under GMA Playlist will be acailable on February 25 on all digital platforms.
