Kapamilya’s longest-running action-drama teleserye FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, starring Coco Martin, overtook its rival show for the first time since ABS-CBN shutdown through its combined ratings in A2Z Channel 11, TV5, and Kapamilya Channel, on February 1.
According to AGB Nielsen NUTAM People Ratings, FPJAP reached 11.8% in combined TV ratings through TV5 and A2Z on free TV and Kapamilya Channel on cable.
Its rival Kapuso program I Left My Heart in Sorsogon reached 11.2% TV ratings, combining its regular GMA network airing and its delayed telecast on GTV.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano scored 0.6% higher than I Left My Heart in Sorsogon despite having limited reach with its block time arrangements with A2Z channel 11 and TV5.
It is the first TV ratings win of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano since ABS-CBN’s shutdown after Congress declined its franchise renewal.
To add to its recent success, FPJAP widened the gap on February 2 with 12.2% TV ratings, according to AGB Nielsen Philippines, based on the overnight National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM) data.
Despite the TV show’s success, FPJAP still has limited reach compared to its pre-ABS-CBN-shutdown airing.
Before ABS-CBN’s Shutdown, FPJAP would usually beat its corresponding Kapuso programs, all except for GMA Network’s Encantadia (based on AGB Neilsen data in 2016.)
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is now in its sixth year on television, making it one of the network’s longest-running TV programs.
As for I Left My Heart in Sorsogon, it’s currently on its last two weeks with First Lady, starring Sanya Lopez and Gabby Concepcion, taking over the time slot.
First Lady is the sequel of First Yaya, which had a widely successful run from March to July 2021, hitting average ratings of 19% to 22%. It also emerged as the most-watched program of 2021 based on AGB Nielsen data.
