Cristy Fermin defended Kapamilya star Angelica Panganiban after the actress was called a ‘starlet’ following her viral voting campaign video.
On February 1, Angelica shared her voting campaign video through the Young Public Servants Facebook page. The actress instructed the people not to vote for a crook and a thief. Netizens then claimed that Panganiban referred to the presidential candidate–Bongbong Marcos.
Angelica then earned the ire of some netizens who called her an attention-grabbing starlet.
On February 3, Cristy Fermin came to the actress’s defense through her YouTube show Cristy Ferminute.
Fermin said that Angelica does not deserve to be called a starlet as the actress has already achieved so much in her career.
She also said that Angelica is an acclaimed actress.
Angelica Panganiban is known for her roles in Sarah, Ang Munting Prinsesa (1995), where she earned awards and nominations as Best Child Actress in the FAMAS Awards and PMPC Star Awards. Her roles in the film A Love Story as well as the series Iisa Pa Lamang and Rubi also earned her Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards and nominations.
She also won the Best Actress honor for her film That Thing Called Tadhana in the 2014 Cinema One Originals and 13th Gawad Tanglaw Awards.
