Kapuso actor Xian Lim on Tuesday, February 8, had his fair share of the supernatural while filming his latest horror movie Bahay na Pula.
In the virtual media conference he said, “I remember, dala ko yung camera ko, nagvi-video ako, tapos yung mga files ko pagbalik sa hotel, nabura! Nabura lahat nang pinagvi-videohan ko! Kasi parang hina-house tour ko yung bahay eh.”
Apparently, the files were for his vlog to tease his fans and supporters about his upcoming horror flick. But unfortunately, they were mysteriously erased in his camera, which left him wondering.
Lim even asked his director, Direk Brillante Mendoza about it. Both of them agreed that maybe, those residing in the location do not want to be recorded.
“So sabi ko, ‘Direk ano kaya ibig sabihin nito? Baka ayaw lang talagang magpa-video.’ Sabi niya, ‘Oo ‘wag mo na i-push baka mamaya iba pa yung sumunod sa atin diyan.'”
According to Direk Brillante, the house, situated somewhere in Pola, Oriental Mindoro, was untouched for ten years.
“Hindi siya pinapasok for 10 years. Ang mga may-ari nandito na sa Manila. And then yung may-ari, yung matanda, kailangan pa talaga siyang kunin ni Mayor dito sa Manila—dinala siya doon para buksan ang bahay. Kasi wala siyang susi, naka-lock,” he shared.
Lim added, “Yung experience na ‘yon, that itself was very creepy. Kasi matagal na ngang hindi napasok yung bahay. And at the same time, very open naman yung mga caretakers eh. Sinabi nila na may mga namatay na nga daw doon sa bahay, that it dates even noong mga panahon ng Hapon I think. Talagang it has a rich history yung bahay na ‘yon.”
Starring Lim, Julia Barretto, and Marco Gumabao, Bahay na Pula tells the story of a couple being haunted by ghosts after moving to a new house. At the same time, a love triangle ensues as the woman (Barretto) falls in love with another man (Gumabao).
The movie will premiere on Vivamax this coming February 25.
