On February 14, Kapamilya artist Barbie Imperial recalled her worst Valentine’s Day experience.
During the media conference for Noreen Capili’s The Goodbye Girl, Imperial recalled confirming rumors about her ex during a previous Valentine’s Day.
“‘Yung akin ‘yung worst break up ko before, parang months after doon ko nalaman na ‘yung mga dinedeny before totoo pala. Tapos nalaman ko ‘yun on Valentine’s Day but wala na kami. So parang, wala na akong magawa, walang confrontation or anything. Parang no choice kung di mag-move on talaga. Pero ‘yung betrayal nandiyan pa rin sayo.”
She then noted that her best Valentine’s Day now is spending her time with her Mom.
“I think ‘yung tonight kasi Mom ko ‘yung kasama ko. ‘Yun ‘yung best Valentine’s day.”
She also expressed her opinion about bad breakups that stemmed from disrespect.
“Kasi ‘yung break-up ang ayos niyo ginagawa, good break up niyo ginagawa pero after nung break up may mga disrespect na nangyayari. So parang mababalewala ‘yung good break up na nangyari. Sana di mo ginagawa kahit wala na tayo kasi respeto pa rin ‘yun.”
For her, the worst goodbye to a relationship would be the one with no reason or explanation.
“I think ‘yung hindi nagsabi at all. ‘Yun. Clueless. Akala mo medyo maayos, tapos nawala. Ayun masakit.”
Imperial recently confirmed her breakup with Diego Loyzaga in early February. Loyzaga and Imperial confirmed their relationship in January 2021. They recently starred in the Vivamax movie, Dulo in December 2021.
As for her most recent Kapamilya project, Imperial stars in The Goodbye Girl, alongside Kapamilya actors Angelica Panganiban, JC De Vera, and RK Bagatsing.
The six-episode digital series includes Kapamilya artists Loisa Andalio, Maris Racal, Elisse Joson, Joshua Colet, Rico Blanco, Turs Daza, and Ronnie Alonte.
The Goodbye Girl streams on the iWantTFC app from February 14 to 19.
