ABS-CBN continues to win recognitions for its various platforms, shows, and stars after receiving 24 awards in the recent 4th Gawad Lasallianeta, including Most Outstanding Media Company for Kapamilya Channel.
Even without a franchise or frequency, DZMM or TeleRadyo won Most Outstanding AM Radio Station while the ABS-CBN Entertainment Facebook page, which already has 32 million followers, was named Most Outstanding Facebook Page.
Phenomenal hit “He’s Into Her,” an iWantTFC original series, was chosen as Most Outstanding Drama Series. Sunday staple “ASAP Natin ‘To” received another Most Outstanding Variety Show award while “It’s Showtime’s” popular Tawag ng Tanghalan segment was honored as Most Outstanding Talent Competition.
Meanwhile, “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla, and Kathryn Bernardo emerged as big winners after winning multiple awards. Vice was named Most Outstanding Entertainment Show Host and Most Outstanding Comedian. Daniel won Most Outstanding Dramatic Actor (The House Arrest of Us), Most Influential Male Celebrity, and Most Effective Male Celebrity Endorser, while Kathryn took home Most Influential Female Celebrity and Most Effective Female Celebrity Endorser.
Jodi Sta. Maria and Paulo Avelino also received honors anew for their work in “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin” and “Fan Girl,” respectively as the winners of Most Outstanding Dramatic Actress and Most Outstanding Performance by An Actor in a Filipino Film. “Fan Girl” was also named Most Outstanding Filipino Film.
Also part of the winners’ circle this year are “The Bottomline” host Boy Abunda (Most Outstanding News/Current Affairs Talk Show Host) and internationally acclaimed actor Arjo Atayde (Green Zeal Award for Excellence as a Lasallian Public Communicator), who brought honor to nation as the star of the hit digital series “Bagman.”
ABS-CBN journalists and current affairs shows also received a lot of love from the members of the De La Salle Araneta University (DLSAU) community. Leading the winners were Noli “Kabayan” De Castro (Most Outstanding Radio Broadcaster), Jeff Canoy (Most Outstanding Male Correspondent), and Karen Davila (Most Outstanding Public Affairs Show Host). “
Iconic shows “Umagang Kay Ganda” (Most Outstanding Morning Show), “SOCO” (Most Outstanding Public Affairs Show), and “Matanglawin” (Most Outstanding Informative/Educational Show) also proved to have made a lasting mark on them.
The 4thGawad Lasallianeta, which was held last Wednesday (February 2) as part of DLSAU’s celebration of its 76th founding anniversary, aims to recognize the most effective and the most influential media and social media personalities and shows in the country. Winners were determined through a university-wide online survey among all DLSAU admin staff, faculty members, parents, and students.
