On Tuesday, February 8, an ABS-CBN executive took it personally that a Kapamilya talent like Toni Gonzaga could introduce Rep. Rodante Marcoleta during the UniTeam proclamation rally.
“Yes, personal sa akin ito. Sa aming lahat na taga-ABS-CBN. Nagulo ang buhay namin. Nagka hiwa-hiwalay kaming lahat ng dahil diyan sa Marcoletang ‘yan,” wrote ABS-CBN Music Head Roxy Liquigan on his Facebook account.
He then aired his disgust on Facebook after seeing how lively the actress-host was in introducing one of the people who booted the Kapamilya Network off the air.
“Maraming taga ABS-CBN ang nawalan ng trabaho, mga kapamilya natin, ng dahil diyan kay Mr. Wig. Tapos pa high pitch/high energy ka pa sa introduction mo??? Haaay.”
He even wished that Gonzaga could have reasoned out that she could not introduce the politician, given that he helped the Duterte Government shut down the TV network.
“P’wede mo namang sabihin na, ‘pass po ako sa introduction kay Mr. Wig’ or ‘ay, iba na lang ang mag-intro kasi mag-CR lang ako,'” he suggested.
However, the damage has been done. Liquigan was hurt to see that a Kapamilya talent could support Marcoleta.
“Gusto ko lang sabihin na sobrang sakit ng ginawa mo sa lahat ng taga ABS-CBN. Yun lang,” said Liquigan.
The vibe that Gonzaga has shown during the introduciton deeply hurt the Kapamilya exec as he added, “Ang sad no? Ang sakit ng ginawa niya. Grabe. Sukdulan.”
ABS-CBN went off the air after receiving a cease and desist order from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) after its franchise expired.
After countless hearings, and despite denying all of the allegations, the Duterte administration cast a 70-11 vote denying the TV station a fresh 25-year franchise license.
