On Tuesday, February 8, ABS-CBN TV host and actress Toni Gonzaga earned criticism from fellow Kapamilyas after introducing Rep. Rodante Marcoleta during the proclamation rally of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Marcoleta was among the members of Congress who denied the broadcasting giant its franchise back in 2020, denying more than 11,000 employees a livelihood amid the pandemic.
Raymund Dizon, a Kapamilya production manager, was disappointed by Gonzaga. He considered it a “huge blow” that the actress supported Marcoleta.

Kapamilya journalist Jervis Manahan tweeted, “BBE” in reference to Pinoy Big Brother which Gonzaga hosts.
BBE

Miguel Dumaual was flabbergasted by the actress-host. He even cited two out of the Ten Commandments, and at the same time, quoted 1 Timothy 5:22, which says, “Do not participate in the sins of others.”
Paano mo nasikmura yun…

Two of the 10 Commandments, according to the Christian Bible:
Thou shalt not kill
Thou shalt not steal1 Timothy 5:22

In a series of tweets, Comedian Alex Calleja also threw some shade at Gonzaga.
Ang bait ng ABS-CBN!
and that's the tweet…— Alex Calleja (@alexcalleja1007) February 8, 2022
Delikadeza is such a lonely word.
— Alex Calleja (@alexcalleja1007) February 8, 2022
Calleja even called out the actress-host for having the “strength” to introduce a candidate who helped shut down ABS-CBN.

TV personality Justin Dizon was extremely disgusted with Gonzaga for claiming to be a religious person, and yet “the people you support are complicit in corruption and human rights violations.”
Extremely disappointed with Toni Gonzaga.
1. Si Marcos ang unang nagpasara sa ABS-CBN.
2. Rodante Marcoleta is a bully who relentlessly bullied ABS-CBN.
3. The people you support are complicit to corruption and human rights violations.
Akala ko bang maka-Diyos ka? Nakakadiri!
— Justin Dizon (@iamjustindizon) February 8, 2022
An enraged Dizon even concluded that the actress-host was unaffected by the shutdown of her home network.
— Justin Dizon (@iamjustindizon) February 8, 2022
The former PBB: Connect housemate stressed that Gonzaga should not treat the proclamation rally like a reality game show in another tweet.
Walang PBB, PBB dito.
Kinabukasan ng bansa ang pinag-uusapan dito.
— Justin Dizon (@iamjustindizon) February 8, 2022
He even ended his tweet by claiming that Gonzaga was an enabler.
Kase enabler siya ng mga magnanakaw, mapang-abuso, at mamamatay-tao.

Former ABS-CBN employee Kevin Manalo was trying to “connect the dots” after the actress-host showed support to the ones who shut down the Kapamilya Network.
How dare they. This is hurtful and still unbelievable.
— Kevin Manalo (@kevinmanalo_) February 8, 2022
I know I'm not the only media worker who feels this. Anong sabi ni ELJ? In service of the Filipinos.
Make it make sense.

Due to the recent events, writer Jerry B Grácio said he now understands if his colleagues would question the integrity of Gonzaga
Disgusted by her act, former Kapamilya employee France Sajorda reminded Gonzaga to show some respect to the ones who helped her career but are now jobless.
Konting respeto. Nakakabastos.
— Miss France Sajorda (@PrincessFrance) February 8, 2022
Some netizens also aired their disgust to Gonzaga.
Toni Gonzaga actively campaigning for Marcoleta who spearheaded the denial of franchise renewal of ABSCBN is a whole ‘nother level of nakakadiri. Kapal ng mukha mong magpakita pa sa doorsteps ng ABS after this.

A netizen even believed that Gonzaga not hosting the latest edition of Pinoy Big Brother was her bad karma for supporting Marcos and Marcoleta.

Gonzaga also shocked a netizen when she shouted, “Tapos na, may nanalo na, tapos ang laban. Buhay na buhay ang pagmamahal kay Apo Lakay Ferdinand Marcos.”
This is actually so chilling. How do people just say this into a mic in 2022. https://t.co/PYlQRz6z32

The grand UniTeam campaign hosted by Gonzaga was held at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan. Despite the ongoing pandemic, the event, a pre-ticketed program, drew thousands of supporters.
