Vivamax content is far from ‘pito-pito’ films, according to film director Roman Perez Jr., on Tuesday, December 28.
“Maraming gano’n na sinasabi tungkol sa Pito-Pito Films na ang Vivamax daw ay ang bagong ‘Pito-Pito.’ Pero mali eh. Mali agad, he said in the virtual media conference for Hugas, a sexy-action film that Perez himself directed.
‘Pito-Pito’ movies have taken the phrase ‘seven each’ literally as filmmakers would finish the phases of pre-production, production, and post-production in just seven days. However, it was not likened by Filipino viewers as they feel that a fast-paced project lacks substance.
But since its development in the ’90s, Perez believed that it has taken a step further.
“Walo-walo na ngayon tsaka sampu-sampu. Hindi pito-pito eh. Mali yung connotation.”
He defended Vivamax by pointing that the entertainment firm puts time and effort into every content that it makes.
“Pero to be ano, maliwanag, ine-explain ko lang ngayon na yung content naman ng Vivamax ay pinag-iisipan, pinaplano, pini-pre prod, pinag-aaralan kung ano yung market.”
Perez further stated that a quickly made film is the new normal and it was made possible by Vivamax, which is already near to having 2 million subscribers due to its non-stop content making.
“Ito na yung wave. Napauso na natin. Bumalik na ang action at sexy, babae at tsaka baril bumabalik na ulit. Sorry wala na silang magagawa. Mag-2 million subscribers na ang Vivamax [at] tayo na lang ang malakas,” Perez proudly said.
Hugas boasts of a cast composed of seasoned actors Joko Diaz and Jay Manalo. It also includes Viva’s hottest sexy stars AJ Raval, Cara Gonzales, Stephanie Raz, Sean de Guzman, and Bob Jbeili.
The movie will be available for streaming on January 14, 2022, only on Vivamax.
