ABS-CBN’s newest primetime series is already showing its might with high TV ratings and concurrent online viewership only on its first week of airing.
Viewers got enthralled on the first night of ABS-CBN’s highly-anticipated TV adaptation of the British TV blockbuster Dr. Foster. The massively-popular South Korean TV adaptation, The World of the Married, was aired on ABS-CBN last year.
After posting a combined TV rating of 6.5% (A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Channel, JeepneyTV), on its first night, on January 24, the much raved-about drama further pulled away, posting a 7.0% rating on its second night.
AGB Nielsen Philippines, a media rating firm provided the data.
In comparison, with its rival TV show on its timeslot, The Broken Marriage Vow still has some catching up to do, as GMA network’s I Can See You, still maintains its lead. The Dingdong Dantes-starrer recorded 8.7% and 9.6% NUTAM ratings, for its January 24 and January 25 airing, respectively.
That said, it is important to note that the Kapamilya show has already made a big leap, in terms of TV rating, for its time slot. Marry Me, Marry You, which previously occupied the slot, usually rated between 4-5%, which means viewership for the time slot has improved by as much as 75%.
On YouTube, the Jodi Sta. Maria-starrer series is also doing great in terms of concurrent live viewership.
On Kapamilya Online Live where ABS-CBN streams old and current Kapamilya programs, The Broken Marriage Vow’s live viewers ranged between 100,000-120,000 for its first two nights. That figure is significantly bigger than Marry Me, Marry You’s traditional 50,000-60,000 viewers.
It is also interesting to note that the series keeps at least 80% of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano viewers, proving the attention it’s been receiving so far.
Huwag Kang Mangamba, the inspirational series, which also aired on the time slot, peaked with a 9.0% AGB NUTAM rating, which means The Broken Marriage Vow still has to deliver more muscle to replicate or even surpass its record, but one should remember, that the ‘gigil-fest’ has barely begun.
Seeing the show’s rating further pull away, should not surprise the viewers.
