It was in October 2021 when rumors of Bustos replacing Atienza as the next weather reporter of TV Patrol had circulated.
Many netizens expressed their excitement about the possibility of Bustos joining TV Patrol. But it was later revealed that Ariel Rojas filled in Atienza’s place as TV Patrol’s weatherman.
Upon seeing the reactions online, Bustos felt overwhelmed and thanked the netizens for the support. He also expressed willingness to take over Atienza’s vacated job.
“Ang tunay na kuwento talaga, last month when it all became viral, I had nothing to do with it. I saw it in the Internet. I saw it in the social media that Kuya Kim is transferring to GMA, tapos biglang nag-pour in ‘yung engagement ko sa Twitter. Ano ‘to? And people make memes. I was really, to be honest, overwhelmed,” Bustos said in a virtual media conference on Life Talks in November 2021.
