TV Patrol went off air along with ABS-CBN back in 2020, but the show has now returned with a brand new look as it makes its comeback to free TV, Monday, January 3.
The longest-running Kapamilya newscast is now part of the primetime programming of A2Z Channel 11, together with almost entirely new anchors. The show also has a different feel after rebranding its visuals (colors, effects, logo, OBB).
Its art card sends out a ‘digital’ vibe, which ABS-CBN explored when it was shut down. According to Anjo Bagaoisan, a Kapamilya journalist, the placement of the word ‘TV’ has become smaller; the letter ‘o’ in TV Patrol now shows a play button, and; the wi-fi signal shown in RGB all represents the digitization of the network to cope up with the “new environment of news.”

For the OBB, it is now a compilation of the Network’s biggest coverages as well as behind the scenes of their news gatherings. A new tag line was also present: “Balitang mahalaga sa inyo.”
Finally Kapamilya, our new #TVPatrol OBB!
A departure from the chrom/gfx-heavy openers of the past decade, it’s a mix of file video from some of ABS-CBN’s biggest coverages & behind-the-scenes spots from in & beyond the news center.

During TV Patrol‘s shutdown, its main anchors Ted Failon and Noli de Castro have left, including its weatherman Kim Atienza. Recently, Julius Babao also made his departure and went to TV5.
As of now, the show’s main anchors are Henry Omaga Diaz, Bernadette Sembrano, and Karen Davila. Ariel Rojas replaced Atienza as TV Patrol‘s weather meteorologist, while Gretchen Fullido remains its showbiz news reporter.
It also added new segments such as Winning Moment hosted by Winnie Cordero and Alam N’yo Ba? by Boyet Sison on October 25, 2021. Migs Bustos also made his debut today on TV Patrol for its latest segment Uso at Bago, tackling the latest technology and gadgets.
Bustos thanked the ABS-CBN News team for giving him the opportunity on Twitter.
Channel 2️⃣ to start 2022.

The existing block time agreement with A2Z since October 2020 made it possible for ABS-CBN to provide its own news and current affairs program. TV Patrol has now occupied the 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. timeslot in their temporary home, simultaneous with Kapamilya Channel and ANC.
