Some netizens still could not get over Kim Atienza’s decision of leaving ABS-CBN as the Kapuso weatherman still received criticisms from his former Network’s supporters on Tuesday, January 4.
A netizen ridiculed Atienza by saying that he wasn’t a loss for ABS-CBN, and claimed that he became “washed” after making the switch to the rival station. Even fellow journalist Atom Araullo who transferred to the GMA Network way back in 2017 was included by the hater.

Araullo whose been with the GMA Network for almost four years, was recognized as the Best TV Special through his Atom Araullo Specials during the 43rd Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA). He also has done documentaries for the Kapuso network with Walang COVID sa Caoayan, an I-Witness documentary, being the latest.
Meanwhile, other netizens defended Atienza attesting that he became more visible with GMA. The comments also received replies from him.

A netizen even pointed that Atienza has a subtle yet savage way of responding to haters.

In an interview back in November 2021, Atienza wished to have something to focus on now that his children are all grown up. He got his wish fulfilled after becoming a Kapuso.
“The Lord’s will is for me to be seen by the most number of people. And the fact that GMA gave me all these shows and I’m so busy, happy ako! Sobrang happy!
“Mas lalo akong sumaya dahil mas maraming nakakakita sa akin at nakakapanuod.”
The weatherman after officially becoming a Kapuso was given shows, including being one of the anchors of 24 Oras as well as the host of the talk show MARS Pa More and GTV’s newsmagazine program Dapat Alam Mo!
