On January 5, Geneva Cruz shared how GMA Network took its health protocols seriously.
During the media conference for Little Princess, Cruz lauded GMA Network’s adherence to the health protocols while they were taping the series.
“Ang magaling naman kasi sa GMA [Network] talagang pag talagang locked-in, locked-in talaga. Walang nakakapasok. Mayroon kaming security lagi na nakasunod sa amin. Talagang sinunod lahat ng protocols. And because of that, mas lalo kong nirespeto ang GMA kasi siyempre inisip na rin nila ang kapakanan ng lahat.”
She recalled how the cast bonded on set through social media during their locked-in taping.
“We did everything together. We did TikTok. We worked out. We laugh a lot together. Sila Marx, played guitar, sila Rodjun nagkantahan, nagkainan, talagang maraming pagkain so talagang we became like brothers and sisters.”
Cruz admitted facing struggles as a performer during the pandemic, noting that it led to her accepting the role.
“Noong sinabi sa akin ng aking mahal na assistant na si Beng na may reading daw ako for new show ng GMA [Network] na Little Princess sabi ko, ‘talaga? ako? aarte ulit?’ kasi six years akong nawala.Â
“In the past I chose to perform and sing, kesa umarte. ‘Yung pagmamahal ko sa sining ay nasa pagperform. Ang buhay ngayon ng pandemic mahirap lalo para sa mga performers, like me. Dahil wala namang live performances.”
She then shared the challenges she encountered returning to acting and how the cast of Little Princess helped her out in her scenes.
“Nahirapan talaga ako, it was a challenge, and Angelica [Dela Cruz] one of the best actors that we have in this country, she helped me a lot. All of the directors, Direk LA and Direk Don. Sinabi ko sa kanila talaga na, ‘Please tell me kung anong kulang.'”
Little Princess, starring Jo Berry with Rodjun Cruz and Juancho Trivino, premieres on January 10, 2022, during GMA Afternoon Prime. The series cast also includes Angelika Dela Cruz and Jestoni Alarcon.
