On Thursday, January 6, Elmo Magalona has returned from a short break in showbiz, this time for a mature role in the anthology series Click, Like, Share episode Unseen.
Together with Jane Oineza, his episode will be the most daring out of all the installments in the show.
“Before naman they went up to me for this project, sinabi naman nila na ang magiging episode namin for Click, Like, Share will be the most mature out of all the episodes. Kaya we really wanted it to have that different type of depth, I guess, or some scenes na hindi mapapakita sa ibang episodes,” he revealed during the show’s virtual media conference.
The actor was also grateful that he got the opportunity to work with Oineza and Direk Andoy Ranay, making it more comfortable for him to play his character.
“I’m super blessed and thankful din na this project that was given to me was going to be directed by Direk Andoy. Because napakatagal na rin the last time I get to work with him.
“Of course my co-star, Jane, naka-work ko na rin before. So the dynamic when we were working, I was very comfortable. They made it really easy for me,” the actor stated.
Oineza and Magalona have worked in the movie Bloody Crayons. Direk Andoy, on the other hand, had worked with him in the 2014 series More Than Words.
The actor admitted he prepared for it for his role despite being informed days before they started taping.
“‘Pag meron kang siguro exam tomorrow, magka-cram ka lang, magpo-procastinate ka. Ganoon yung naging pakiramdam ko nung nagpe-prepare ako for Click, Like, Share. Pero I was patient like hindi ako kumakain and everything para mapaganda lang ang scene namin ni Jane.”
Will this be the start of Magalona accepting mature characters in the future? Apparently, he prefers to explore other roles but would accept similar projects “as long as it is challenging.”
“I think I’ll take it on. Pero ayoko namang maging… like I want to try different things, take on new challenges nga. I don’t want to be typecasted to just being mature roles all the time.
“So ngayon na na-try ko siya, I can say na it was fun and it was a challenge nga. So maybe I’ll take more challenges in the future.”
Unseen is part of a series of episodes for Click, Like, Share‘s third season.
