Collaborating with an international producer for their single Everybody Hurts was a great opportunity for award-winning singers Julie Anne San Jose and Christian Bautista last January 19.
Both of them expressed their gratitude to Universal Studios for making it possible.
“This wouldn’t be possible kung hindi po dahil sa Universal Records. S’yempre sobrang grateful po kami sa opportunity na ito. Bihira po ang ganitong klaseng opportunity and it’s just an amazing feeling. It feels great that we get to collaborate with different producers across the globe, and it is such a great opportunity to do something like this,” said San Jose during their virtual media conference.
She added that the song is also set to be released globally, which is also a chance to expand their reach.
“Intended din po siya for global release so we’re very very excited as well to release it not only in the Philippines. Happy din kami kasi we’re able to expand our reach as well.”
According to Bautista, Everybody Hurts being under Universal Records is the “right way to go” since it gives them a bit of an edge over other songs.
“Before the release of the actual Spotify platform or even Apple Music, ‘pag magre-release ka ng song especially an English song, you’re really competing with the rest of the world.
“And at the same time, you have the chance to speak, to tell your story to a billion people who speak English.
“What better way to do that? By partnering with other companies who can market it in their own unique way in other countries as well. Very very cool na Universal Studios is doing this,” he explained.
Their single was produced by the same label company behind some of the songs of BTS and Wise.
Listen to Everybody Hurts streaming on various music platforms on Friday, January 21.
