Celebrities switching networks is not unusual in the showbiz industry.
This has been common for artists looking for something new with their careers or simply maximizing their opportunities.
Despite the Kapamilya network not having its franchise, several artists have still decided to transfer to the network.
Some of the celebrities who switched to the ABS-CBN network are the following:
Janine Gutierrez
Janine transferred to the ABS-CBN network in February 2021. She became a Kapamilya after being with the GMA network for about nine years.
She currently stars in the primetime Kapamilya series Marry Me, Marry You, alongside Paulo Avelino. The series is available on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, and Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
Janine is also paired with another former Kapuso, Lovi Poe, in an iWant TFC series titled Sleep With Me in 2022.
Sunshine Dizon
Sunshine officially became a Kapamilya on April 30, 2021. Her transfer was confirmed after seeing in the teaser of the Kapamilya series Marry Me, Marry You, which premiered on September 13.
In her first media conference with the Kapamilya network on April 30, the actress revealed that when she was offered a part in the Kapamilya teleserye, she knew it was “meant to be.”
Sunshine is also a part of ABS-CBN’s original iQiyi drama, Saying Goodbye starring Seth Fedelin and Andrea Brillantes.
Lovi Poe
Lovi Poe transferred to the ABS-CBN network on September 16 after months of speculations of her network transfer.
Rumors first started after the non-renewal of Poe’s contract under GMA Network, which has expired in July 2020.
On September 11, the ABS-CBN network also teased about a ‘previous jewel’ finding a new home.
Lovi is set to work with Piolo Pascual with her first Kapamilya series. The series is an adaptation of the Korean Drama Flower of Evil.
She will also star alongside Janine Gutierrez for the iWant TFC series Sleep With Me.
Piolo Pascual
Piolo Pascual made his return to the ABS-CBN network on September 16.
Before his return, when ABS-CBN went off-air in 2020, he was among those Kapamilya artists who took off and switched to other networks such as TV5 and GMA Network.
He is set to star in a Kapamilya series with Lovi Poe. The series will be an adaptation of the Korean Drama Flower of Evil.
He will also star in a romantic-comedy series where he reunites with Angelica Panganiban.
The ABS-CBN network is slowly rising from its downfall in 2020 as celebrities are signing with the network again. The network has also new shows lined up for 2022.
