The official movie trailer of Nelia, starring Winwyn Marquez, has reached nearly 2.5 million views so far.
The trailer was released on December 1, in the film’s official Facebook page, and has immediately garnered more than 1,000,000 views in its first 36 hours.
Netizens are now talking about Nelia because of its unique theme. In the trailer, mystery shrouds Room 009, in the hospital where Nelia (played by Winwyn) works as a nurse. Apparently, all patients admitted in the room end up dead. “Is there a ghost or is there a killer in the hospital?” is a question netizens commonly ask.
The film also tackles the issue of mental health, which is a hot topic on social media these days, as the prevalence of anxiety and depression among people continue because of the ongoing pandemic. “In a way, our film is also educational because of its underlying theme on mental health disorders. Hopefully, through our film, the audience will be able to broaden their understanding of people dealing with mental health problems,” said the film’s director, Lester Dimaranan.
Apart from these, there are other notable scenes to watch for in the film, such as Ali Forbes’ and Shido Roxas’ daring encounters, which is also quickly becoming a hot topic on social media. Ali and Shido play as Dr. Josan and Nurse Anna in the film, respectively. Nelia also stars Raymond Bagatsing, Mon Confiado, Dexter Doria, and commercial model-turned-actor Juan Carlos Galano in his first feature film, among many others.
Nelia is an official entry in the upcoming 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) and will be shown nationwide in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Produced by A and Q Films Production, Nelia will be screened in SM Manila, SM San Lazaro, SM Grand Central, SM Sta. Mesa, SM Fairview, SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, SM Sucat, SM Southmall, Gateway Mall, Fishermall Quezon City, Eastwood Mall, Ayala Fairview Terraces, Ayala Malls Feliz, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Sta Lucia East Grand Mall, Greenhills, Glorietta, Ayala Circuit, Market! Market!, Venice Grand Canal Mall, Gaisano Cineplex, SM Cebu, Gaisano Davao, and NCCC Davao, on December 25.
