On December 11, seasoned actress Sunshine Cruz admitted that it was her dream to join the cast of the Mano po franchise.
During the media conference for the upcoming series, Cruz shared her excitement with Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune, noting that she cut her hair for the project.
“It is a dream come true for me na makasama ako dito sa Mano Po kasi pinapanood ko lang ‘yun and I was always wondering bakit kaya hindi ako nabibigyan ng offer to be part of the movie.
“So noong inoffer sa akin ito, kulang na lang tumambling ako sa excitement. So when they asked me na kailangan magpa-cut ng hair, siyempre magmula noong nagstart ako ng pag-aartista palaging long hair ako di ba? So walang kaabog-abog, talagang I said, ‘sige, sure kung kinakailangan ganyan ang buhok, game na game ako.’ So that’s how excited I am.”
She also noted that working with new and seasoned actors feels like a blessing.
“To be able to work with my ninang Boots Anson Roa, Miss Maricel Laxa and mga naggagalingang mga kabataang artista it is really a blessing and honor for me.”
Earlier, Cruz explained to netizens her freelance status after receiving feedback about her projects with GMA Network.
“Nakaramdam ako ng mga pangba-bash when they found out that I’m doing a project for GMA [Network]. But, kailangan lang namang i-educate natin ‘yung mga tao. Kailangan maintindihan nila ‘yung ibig sabihin ng freelancer noh. That what I did, kaya nakakatuwa na parang, ‘ah ‘yun pala ibig sabihin ng freelancer.’ Ito pala ‘yung ganito.”
She then thanked GMA Network for the open welcome and her lineup of projects.
“I’m very happy that GMA always welcomes me with open arms. With open arms talaga ‘yun. I’m very, very grateful na lagi naman nila ako binibigyan ng magagandang projects. Ako naman bilang pasasalamat, gagawin ko ang lahat para sa ikakaganda ng mga offers, sa mga ibinibigay sa akin ng mga networks.”
