OPM artist Sheryn Regis admitted that she is attracted to women despite having a child with her ex-husband Earl Echiverri.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz on December 26, Regis mentioned that she always knew in her heart that she is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
“Alam ko na sa puso ko na bahagi ako ng LGBTQ kuya Ogs it’s just that I started living with a man when I’m 18 years old. So, ‘yun ‘yung time na may realization ako na iba ‘yung feeling ko, iba ‘yung nararamdaman ko,” she said.
But because of her strict parents, Regis was forced to hide her true identity.
“It’s just that siyempre lagi tayong naka-follow sa parents kung ano ang gusto nilang mangyari sa buhay, ipa-follow mo. Galing pa ako sa school na Katoliko when I told na, ‘Ma hindi naman talaga ako ‘yung gusto mong babae, the wife material talaga.’
“So, kung i-complicate ko pa lahat, me against the world na. Me against the clan,” said the singer.
Regis then went on with her life but she still felt incomplete inside.
Despite having a child with her ex-husband, the singer insisted that she is attracted to women.
“Yeah, naramdaman ko ‘yung essence of a woman is to have a child, yes.
Regis also revealed that she already admitted being a lesbian to her husband and that they still have a good relationship with each other.
She is currently in a relationship with YouTuber Mel de Guia. Relationship rumors between them first started after they were spotted making sweet gestures in a TikTok video on December 2021.
She rose to prominence when she placed as a runner-up to Erik Santos during the singing competition Star in a Million (2003).
She is behind the theme songs of some popular ABS-CBN TV series such as Marina (2004), Krystala (2004), Kampanerang Kuba (2005), Gulong ng Palad (2006), Maria Flordeluna (2007), and Prinsesa ng Banyera (2007).
