Rita Daniela reacted to being snubbed by the jury of the 47th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal which was held on Monday, December 27 at the Samsung Hall, SM Aura, Taguig.
The Kapuso star failed to earn recognition from the MMFF jury for her official entry Huling Ulan Sa Tag-araw along with onscreen partner Ken Chan.
However, she remained positive and was glad that her movie was appreciated by the viewers.
“Okay lang po yun, Kuya. Ang importante naman po, nagustuhan ng mga nakapanood,” she said in an interview with PEP on Tuesday, December 28.
Huling Ulan Sa Tag-araw, the debut film of the breakthrough Kapuso love team, earned praises from the netizens.
Lotlot De Leon and Richard Yap are also part of the cast of Ang Huling Ulan Sa Tag-araw. It is a romantic film directed by Louie Ignacio.
During the red carpet premiere of the official MMFF entry Huling Ulan Sa Tag-araw on December 13, She shared that she will feel blessed and honored if she is hailed as the ‘Best Actress’ for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
She said, “Sinasabi namin, it’s been two years, kailan pa po ba namin mapapanood ‘yung pelikula tapos biglang pasok siya sa MMFF. Pero sa ‘kin naman po kung will din ni Lord talaga, if He thinks that my character is ready to receive an award like that then thank you so much Lord.
“Then kung hindi naman din po, wala naman pong issue kasi po napakagaling, napakahusay po lahat ng mga aktor po na kasama sa MMFF and sobrang special po nito talaga.”
