Netizens lauded actress-philanthropist Angel Locsin on Friday, December 17, when she volunteered in the relief drive of Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo and her running mate, Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, for the victims of Super Typhoon Odette.
Locsin arrived this afternoon at the volunteer center in Katipunan, Quezon City.
Locsin wore a pink jacket, the campaign color of Robredo and Pangilinan when she arrived at the center.
Her presence made netizens call her a “real Darna”–the Filipino superheroine she portrayed back in 2005.

The typhoon devastated Visayas and Mindanao regions during its landfall, becoming “one of the world’s strongest storms” this year.
PAGASA said wind speed has accelerated to 195 kilometers (121 miles per hour) near the center with gusts of up to 240km/h (149 mph), but this did not prevent Locsin from extending her help to the victims, which she had been doing for several years.
The efforts of the Kapamilya superstar were also recognized internationally, being listed by Forbes as Asia’s “Heroes of Philanthropy” in 2019.
Earlier this December, Tatler Asia recognized her as one of the “Most Influential” individuals.
