On Tuesday, December 7, Congressman Mike Defensor believed that Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is not a threat against ABS-CBN if ever he wins the presidential race.
In an exclusive interview with Anthony Taberna in his YouTube show Tune In with Ka Tunying, Defensor, who was running for the mayoral position in Quezon City, was saddened by the Kapamilya supporters who were against Marcos just because he was the son of the late dictator, Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
“Ang mahirap lang Ka Tunying, kung minsan nakikita ko, parang na-define na eh. Kapag Kapamilya ka, anti-BBM ka, anti-Mike ka,” said Defensor.
But BBM would help ABS-CBN, nevertheless, according to Defensor.
“As for BBM, sinabi naman niya eh, ‘I am for a healing presidency and I would like everyone to help out.'”
Defensor also said he would do the same if he wins mayor in Quezon City since he did not hold any grudges against the Network.
“Kung ako manalong mayor ng Quezon City, ang management ng ABS-CBN or kahit ng mga emplyado, yung management doon, lumapit sa akin, ‘Mike paano natin matutulungan?’
“Hindi naman ako naging personal diyan eh. Wala naman akong galit kahit kanino eh. In fact, I have been clear about that and sinabi ko pa kay Mister Karlo Katigbak. Sabi ko, ‘Karlo, alam mo ngayon lang tayo nag-meet pero I really appreciate you.’ Dahil mabait naman si Karlo eh.”
Defensor was recently criticized after running against incumbent QC Mayor Joy Belmonte in the upcoming elections.
He was also among the 70 congressmen who rejected ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal application due to “violations” back in 2020.
