On December 20, Kobie Brown expressed his gratitude to ABS-CBN for giving him projects with the network.
During the media conference for her iQiyi series, Saying Goodbye, Brown thanked ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, Star Magic.
“Sobrang grateful ako that the management really trusts us with these projects, especially being bago kami sa industry po. They really give us, they trust us to be part of these big projects, and all we promise is to keep on working hard in everything we do.”
His Loveteam partner Andi Abaya revealed how they received the call for the roles in iQiyi’s Saying Goodbye digital series.
“We were called by our handlers po and she informed us na, ‘Congrats, you got a new project. You guys will be doing a project.’ Tapos ‘yun na po, nagkaroon po kami ng meeting with Mama Carl, with Direk Dolly, tapos tuloy-tuloy na po ‘yun at sobrang thankful po kami na kasama kami sa project na ‘yun.”
He then shared things he learned working on set, such as being open to new ideas and believing in himself.
“What I learned is–to be more open as an actor. Open/ to new ideas and stuff and at first po sobrang kabado ako.
“Especially sa workshops, I remember crying sa weeks off because I wanted to prove to myself that I can do this, I deserve to be a part of this, and I want to give my all.Â
“Something that I learned is to always believe in yourself. Don’t let the nerves get ahead of you.”
Brown also voiced his hope about ABS-CBN’s return in 2022.Â
“May COVID pa, recently may typhoon pa sa Visayas po at Mindanao. Slowly we we’re getting better with this COVID situation.Â
“Sana next year will be an even greater year po. And, I’m hoping that the people, the citizens, can vote wisely next year. Sana, I’m hoping we can get the franchise back next year.”
He then noted that he feels happy with the opportunities in 2021 and hopes that he and Abaya will get more projects in 2022.
“I’m very happy with the opportunities I’m getting po. I’m still new here sa industry, ang dami akong matutunan, and I can’t wait for next year to sana get more projects, [and] to discover myself more as an artist.”
Brown stars in the digital series directed by Dolly Dulu alongside Gold Squad members Andrea Brillantes, Seth Fedelin, new Kapamilya artists Andi Abaya, and Nio Tria.
