Kapuso star Kelvin Miranda signed his new contract under GMA Network. A media conference was held on November 25 for his contract renewal.
In the said mediacon, Miranda reacted to those people who dub him the next Dennis Trillo of the Kapuso network. Miranda’s moves and acting skills remind him of Dennis Trillo’s early years in showbiz.
Miranda then said that it was not his first time to be paralleled with Trillo.
“Nakaka-overwhelm at nakakatuwa talaga. Syempre, hinahangaan sa industriya tapos inihahalintulad saakin, na parang tinatabi ako sa mga ganung tao na simula nung bata pa ako, hanggang ngayon, ay hinahangaan ko pa rin sila,” Miranda said.
GMA Network is preparing Miranda to be the next Kapuso leading man. Miranda then thinks that his authenticity and determination caused the management to like him as an artist.
“Yung pagiging totoo ko po as a person, yun yung alam kong maipagmamalaki ko talaga. Wala naman po akong tinago since nagsisimula ako.
“And pagpupursigi at pagsusumikap ko na maabot yung mga pangarap ko and yung pagku-kwento and pagshe-share ng entertainment sa masa.”
Miranda also believes that his confidence in his craft is something that makes him unique as an artist.
Kelvin Miranda, 22, first appeared in the 2016 Star Cinema movie ‘Vince and Kath and James’.
The following year, he signed a management contract under GMA Artist Center, and since then, he has become part of various Kapuso shows, including ‘Kambal, Karibal’, ‘Tadhana’, ‘Dear Uge’, ‘Maynila’, and ‘Magpakailanman’.
In 2019, he had his career breakthrough when he starred in the first-ever Netflix original film from the Philippines, ‘Dead Kids’. His portrayal as Mark Santa Maria earned admiration from viewers.
Just this year, Miranda had his first lead role in TV for the Kapuso series ‘The Lost Recipe’, where he was paired with Mikee Quintos.
