It was a dream come true for actress Karel Marquez to work with Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi after returning to GMA Network, Wednesday, December 15.
“Tapos towards the end of our show, parang I really expressed my feelings that I’m really thankful to be part of this show. Because first of all, it’s in my bucketlist na makasama ko silang dalawa,” she shared during the virtual media conference of the upcoming episode of the drama-anthology series Stories from the Heart: The End of Us.
The actress was also amazed by how successful the couple was as she added, “They’re like the top endorsers now as a family, and you know they’ve been in the industry for so many years. At iilan lang ang hanggang bata sila nag-start and hanggang ngayon, na parang they’re still here. So it’s really a privilege.”
Working with the real-life couple, Marquez admitted she got nervous at first but discovered how genuine Legaspi and Villaroel were that they managed to make her share some personal things with them.
“To be honest sobrang kinabahan talaga ako. I thought parang maiilang ako, baka hindi ako kausapin. But they were so mabait pala. And towards the end na medyo nag-open up na po ako sa kanila and chika-chika na rin. So everything is really parang… I thank God for this project and this role talaga.”
Stories from the Heart: The End of Us marks the return of Marquez in doing shows with GMA Network.
Her last Kapuso project was back in 2018 when she became part of the TV series Contessa that starred actress Glaiza de Castro. She then went on to do a project with TV5 as Karen Dominante Cruz in Paano ang Pangako?
“Last ko po is toward mid-2017 sa Contessa with Glaiza de Castro. After po kasi noon, talagang pahinga po ng 2 years. So ito po yung next ko. Sabi ko, ‘I have to be back here in GMA.'”
Stories from the Heart: The End of Us is under the direction of Direk Zig Dulay and will begin airing on December 20, at 3:25 p.m., on GMA Afternoon Prime.
